Know the Truth is a drug and alcohol prevention program geared towards junior high and high school students.
Through the use of interactive learning methods, the program educates students to increase their awareness of the physical, emotional, and intellectual dangers of drug and alcohol use.
The program is provided free of charge and can be tailored to the needs of your school or organization to address the issues that you wish to address.
Know the Truth offers sessions that examine topics such as alcohol, methamphetamines, cocaine, date rape, depression, and steroids. All presentations are administered by young adults who have struggled with these issues and can connect on a level with students that few others can.
Teenagers are cornered by the pressures of growing up. More than 62% of teens are using alcohol as a way of escape. These numbers are staggering.
We at Know the Truth have developed a plan to give teenagers the education and awareness about the effects of substances and also alternatives to this kind of lifestyle. Presentations by young adults who have actually battled with the struggles of addiction relate to teens in a way that will stick in their minds. Who can better relate than we who have battled ourselves?
During the 2010/2011 school year, Know the Truth worked with over 120 high schools, junior high schools, and community organizations in the Twin Cities and beyond.
